Dr. M. Sethukumar Kamath, ( AMDA-INDIA, Chapter Head )
got his Bachelors degree in Ayurveda in 1997 from Udupi Ayurveda College and MD in Ayurveda in 1981, from Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar Gujarat, India.Dr Kamath Worked as a Lecturer in Udupi Ayurvedic College from 1981 to 1983. Served as Lecturer in Ayurvedic Medicine in the Department of Ayurveda, Kasturba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal, 1983 to 1985, served as Senior Research Officer & Head, Dept. of Ayurveda, Kasturba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal, from.1985. Promoted as Associate Professor then Professor and Head of the Dept. of Ayurveda, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal from 2000 till retirement on 30-9-2014. From January 2015 working as Professor and Head of the Dept. at Atreya Ayurvedic Medical College, Doddaball.
Dr. Kamath Served as Visiting Professor of Ayurveda to the Thames Valley University, London, U.K. Attented various Academic programs at various places Abroad likeThailand,Japan,Hong Kong,UAE ,London, U.K. Malaysia Nepal Sri Lanka He is a Member of International Association for the Study of Traditional Medicine,Lok Swasthya Parampar Samvardhan Samiti,Herbals Academy, Bombay, Country director of Association of Medical Doctors for Asia, Japan, Executive Member Association for modernised promotion of Asian Traditional Medicine, Japan),Member of Dakshina Kannada Indian Medical Practitioners Association, Mangalore. Karnataka. Hon. Ayurvedic Consultant –Sami Labs., Bangalore.,Governing Body Member – The British Association of Accredited Ayurvedic Practitioners London, U.K. He has got 20 publications in national international journals and periodicals He attended 15 international and 27 national conferences and presented scientific papers. Is actively engaged in Clinical research program in association with Okayama University Medical college, Okayama, Japan.
In 1984 along with Dr. Shigeru Suganami of Japan established AMDA and since then actively associated wih various emergency medical relief activities and other social support activities conducted by the association. Dr. Kamath is currently holding the position of Country Chairperson for AMDA-India.
